First Cowl Knitting Pattern

This cowl is loaded with texture and is the perfect accessory to throw on over a light jacket when the weather turns cool. The stitches are easy enough for an adventurous beginner, and it's great for practicing to knit in the round on circular needles. As a knitting instructor, I am always looking for new & interesting projects for my beginning knitters; ones that teach those fundamental knitting stitches while being simple to follow.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - includes basic knit & purl stitches along with yarn overs.  The pattern is worked in the round on circular knitting needles.

Size: The pattern includes instructions for two sizes:
Single Loop: 22” circumference 
Double Loop: 44” circumference

Ella Rae Cozy Alpaca, 178 - 356 yards (163 - 326 m)

Needles Used: Size US 9 / 5.5 mm

Gauge: 18 stitches = 4 inches in pattern
